In a collaborative effort to enhance emergency response capabilities within the sports community, the Maldives Olympic Committee, in partnership with the Ministry of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation and the Maldives National Defense Force, successfully conducted a comprehensive CPR/AED training program.

The three-day course saw the participation of six individuals from National Sports Associations, along with four participants selected by the Maldives Olympic Committee.

The training, held under the supervision of the College of Defense and Security, aimed to equip the participants with essential life-saving skills. Upon successfully completing the program, all participants received CPR/AED certificates that adhere to the same standard as those offered by the American Heart Association.

The training program holds significant importance as it prepares the medical personnel who will be stationed at recently inaugurated medical rooms. On January 15, 2024, His Excellency President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu inaugurated these medical rooms, emphasizing the commitment of the Maldivian government to prioritize the health and safety of athletes and sports enthusiasts.

The successful completion of the CPR/AED training program marks an important milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen emergency response capabilities in the Maldives' sports sector. It is a testament to the commitment and dedication of all involved parties to ensure the safety and welfare of athletes and individuals engaged in sports activities.
