1st South Asian Beach Games - 2011
1st South Asian Beach Games was held from October 8-14 in Hambantota / Sri Lanka. The Chef De Mission of the 1st South Asian Beach Games was Ahmed Mumthaqim from Athletics Association of Maldives. Flagbearer at the opening ceremony of the Games was Nooman Aboobakuru from Maldives Surfing Association. 8 countries participated at the Games, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. 51 Athletes from Maldives competed at the Games from Beach volleyball, Beach netball, 3 on 3 basketball, swimming and surfing.
