In a significant step towards ensuring the safety and well-being of athletes in sports competitions across the Maldives, the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) and the Ministry of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The signing ceremony, held at MOC Headquarters, was attended by Minister of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation Honorable Abdulla Rafiu alongside the President of the MOC Mohamed Abdul Sattar and key
representatives from both entities.
During the signing ceremony, Minister Abdulla Rafiu emphasized that this initiative holds tremendous significance as a pivotal component of the "Hafthaa 14" pledge made by the President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The President of MOC echoed the sentiments expressed by the Honorable Minister and reaffirmed the commitment of the MOC to collaborate closely with the ministry in all matters related to sports.
The official inauguration of the project is scheduled for January 15, signifying today's MoU signing as the initial phase of this comprehensive endeavor.
