The Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC), in partnership with the Maldives National Institute of Sports (MNIS), successfully concluded the Sport Administrator & Team Management Course with a closing ceremony held today. The Honorable Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu, attended as the chief guest and acknowledged the significance of strengthening administrative capacity within the national sports sector. A total of 32 participants completed the month-long, MQA-approved programme, which was designed to enhance the administrative, operational, and leadership capabilities of National Sports Associations across the country. The programme was delivered in coordination with Olympic Solidarity as part of ongoing efforts to support capacity development in sport.

Throughout the four weeks of training, participants took part in structured sessions covering key areas such as sport administration, event planning, team operations, communication, risk management, and leadership in sport. The course also explored the essential responsibilities of team managers, equipping participants with the practical skills required to support athletes and teams during national and international competitions.

During the ceremony, representatives from the MOC and MNIS commended the participants for their dedication and active engagement throughout the programme. They highlighted the growing importance of professional development in enhancing the standards of sports management and ensuring that national teams are supported by knowledgeable and well-prepared administrators.

The completion of the Sport Administrator & Team Management Course marks another significant step in wider efforts to elevate the capabilities of sports personnel and enhance organisational excellence across the Maldivian sporting landscape.
