Asian Beach Games 2026: Strong Runs from Saeed and Shaba, Personal Best for Ahnaa
Maldives’ beach athletics athletes Hasan Saeed, Aishath Shaba Saleem, and Ahnaa Nizaar competed in the individual 60m events at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China.
Today marked the first day of competition for the Maldives athletics team, with events held at Phoenix Island in Sanya.
Hasan Saeed competed in Heat 1 of the men’s 60m event and finished fourth with a time of 7.12 seconds.
Aishath Shaba Saleem competed in Heat 1 of the women’s 60m event, finishing seventh with a time of 8.19 seconds.
Ahnaa Nizaar competed in Heat 3 of the women’s 60m event and recorded a time of 7.81 seconds, setting a new personal best.
Ahnaa’s previous best in the 60m was 7.83 seconds, recorded earlier this year at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Tianjin, China.
