The Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Honorable Abdulla Rafiu and the Ambassador of the Maldives to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ahmed Sareer met with the Maldivian contingent participating in the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, in a show of strong institutional support and encouragement for the nation’s athletes and officials.

The meeting served as an opportunity to engage directly with the delegation, acknowledge their efforts, and extend words of motivation as they represent the Maldives on the international stage. The presence of senior government representatives highlighted the importance placed on athlete welfare, performance, and the continued development of sport at the national level.

During the interaction, discussions focused on the athletes’ experiences at the Games, their preparedness, and the overall progress of the Maldivian team. The Minister and the Ambassador conveyed their confidence in the delegation and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to supporting sports development and international participation.

The 6th Islamic Solidarity Games bring together athletes from member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), promoting unity, mutual respect, and excellence through sport.
