Minister of Sports Engages with MOC Leadership at Asian Youth Games 2025
The Minister of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation, Honourable Abdulla Rafiu, paid an official visit to Bahrain during the Asian Youth Games 2025, where he met with the leadership of the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) and members of the Maldivian delegation currently participating in the Games.
His presence at the Games highlighted the Government’s continued support for Maldivian athletes and the importance placed on youth development and international sporting representation. During the visit, the Minister engaged with MOC officials to discuss the delegation’s progress, athlete welfare, and the overall participation of the Maldives at the Asian Youth Games.
The Asian Youth Games bring together athletes from Asia, promoting unity, cultural exchange, and sporting excellence through high-level competition across a wide range of disciplines.
The visit by the Minister reinforced a unified approach between the Government and the Maldives Olympic Committee in supporting athletes, enhancing sports development initiatives, and ensuring that Maldivian athletes are provided with the encouragement and institutional backing necessary to perform at their best on the international stage.
