Information Session Conducted for Islamic Solidarity Games – Riyadh 2025 Delegation
An information and briefing session was conducted for athletes, officials, medical staff, and media personnel selected to represent the Maldives at the Islamic Solidarity Games – Riyadh 2025. The session aimed to ensure all members of the delegation are adequately prepared and informed ahead of their participation in the multi-sport event.
The session was led by Chef de Mission Mohamed Jaushan Shareef, who provided an overview of the Games structure and outlined key operational procedures. Topics discussed included travel coordination, arrival and departure protocols, accommodation arrangements, competition timelines, and accreditation requirements, ensuring clarity on roles and responsibilities throughout the Games period.
Participants were also provided with essential background information on the host nation, Saudi Arabia, including climate conditions, local customs, cultural considerations, time differences, currency usage, and basic etiquette to support smooth interaction and adaptation during their stay.
Briefings further covered areas such as health and safety measures, medical support services, anti-doping education, and compliance with Games regulations, including branding and conduct guidelines expected of all delegation members.
The Maldives delegation for the Islamic Solidarity Games – Riyadh 2025 will comprise 70 athletes and officials, competing in sports such as athletics, swimming, handball, and table tennis.
The session played a key role in strengthening coordination, reinforcing preparedness, and ensuring that all participants are aligned with the standards and expectations required for international competition, supporting the Maldives’ objective of responsible and professional representation at the Games.
