Secretary General of the Maldives Olympic Committee, Thamooh Ahmed Saeed, successfully completed the MEMOS (Executive Masters in Sport Organisations Management) programme, an internationally recognized qualification supported by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) through Olympic Solidarity. The program was delivered in collaboration with the University of Ottawa, making it part of a global effort to elevate governance and leadership within the Olympic movement.

MEMOS is specially designed for professionals working in national and international sports organisations. It equips them with advanced management skills in areas such as strategic planning, governance, financial management, marketing, human resources, and project development.

As a rigorous, one-year executive-level programme, MEMOS combines residential sessions, online work, and a deeply practical project focused on the participant’s home organisation. During these modules, participants benefit from the expertise of international academics and practitioners, and receive one-on-one guidance while undertaking a capstone project.

Through this qualification, he now joins a global network of over 1,100 MEMOS alumni—professionals working across the Olympic Movement in more than 197 countries. This will undoubtedly bring valuable insights and strategic thinking to the Maldives Olympic Committee.

The Maldives Olympic Committee congratulates Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed on this important milestone. His dedication to continuous learning and capacity building reflects the Committee’s broader commitment to improving governance, leadership, and the long-term development of sport in the Maldives.
