Maldivian Athletes’ Voice Represented at OCA’s 6th Athletes’ Forum in Astana
Ms. Afa Ismail, representing the Maldives Olympic Committee Athletes’ Commission, attended the 6th Athletes’ Forum of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), held in Astana, Kazakhstan, on 2–3 September 2025. The two-day forum brought together athlete representatives from across Asia, providing a valuable platform to ensure that the voices of athletes are heard and that the work of the OCA and its athletes’ committees reflects the real needs and priorities of athletes throughout the continent.
During the forum, participants engaged in discussions on athlete welfare, governance, safe sport, anti-doping measures, and strategies to strengthen Athletes’ Committees across Asia. The program also offered opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among athlete leaders, fostering connections that can help improve support systems for athletes in their respective countries.
