The Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC), through its Athletes’ Commission, successfully conducted the Athletes’ Forum 2025 on 27 December 2025 in Malé, bringing together athletes from across the Maldives for a full day of engagement, learning, and dialogue.

Held under the theme “Championing Your Story: Perform, Protect, Promote”, the Forum marked the second national athletes’ forum organised in the Maldives. The event aimed to empower athletes by providing practical knowledge and awareness on key aspects of athlete development, performance, and wellbeing. Over 50 athletes representing a wide range of sporting disciplines participated in the Forum.

The programme featured a series of focused sessions addressing topics of direct relevance to athletes, including mental health, physical rehabilitation and recovery, safe sport and safeguarding, anti-doping, Athlete365, and media engagement and storytelling. Interactive workshops on content creation and digital branding encouraged athletes to understand how to professionally represent themselves, communicate their journeys, and engage responsibly with media and sponsors.

A key highlight of the Forum was the “Own Your Story” segment, where athletes worked in groups to develop and present short storytelling projects, promoting personal experiences, goals, and values. The session encouraged creativity, collaboration, and confidence in athlete-led communication.

In addition to plenary sessions, dedicated experience zones were established throughout the venue, allowing athletes to engage with practical demonstrations and information on health screening, recovery methods, media interaction, career guidance, and anti-doping education during break periods.

The Forum concluded with a wrap-up session and closing ceremony, during which key takeaways and recommendations were shared. These outcomes will contribute to ongoing athlete representation and advocacy efforts through the Athletes’ Commission.
