Firunash and Hishma Selected for Chinese Olympic Committee Youth Camp 2025

Young Maldivian athletes Firunash and Hishma have been selected to represent the Maldives at the Chinese Olympic Committee Youth Camp 2025, to be held in Beijing.

The youth camp is aimed at promoting sports exchange and providing young athletes with an opportunity to gain exposure to international training environments. Participants will take part in a range of activities including basic training sessions, educational programmes, and cultural exchanges alongside other young athletes from different countries.

This experience will allow Firunash and Hishma to develop their skills, build friendships, and gain valuable insight into international sports participation. Their selection reflects their commitment and interest in sport at the youth level.

The Youth Camp programme includes structured practical training sessions, introductory workshops on fitness, nutrition, injury prevention, and basic sports science, as well as interactive activities focused on teamwork and communication. Participants are also introduced to Olympic values and the importance of fair play, respect, and discipline in sport.

In addition to sports-related sessions, the camp provides cultural and educational exposure, allowing participants to learn about Chinese culture, traditions, and daily life through guided visits, group activities, and shared experiences with other young athletes. This environment encourages cross-cultural understanding and helps participants build confidence when engaging in international settings.

Through this programme, Firunash and Hishma will gain valuable experience that supports their personal and athletic development while representing the Maldives among their peers from other countries.

The Maldives Olympic Committee wishes them the very best as they take part in this learning experience and represent the country in a positive manner.
