The CGF Oceania and Asia Regional Meeting began today at SAii Lagoon, Crossroads, welcoming representatives from 22 countries. This event marks the first time the meeting has been held in the Maldives and in Asia.

CGA Maldives President Sattar opened the session, expressing his honor in hosting this historic gathering. He emphasized the values of unity, diversity, and excellence in sports and acknowledged the significance of this meeting for the region.

Following Sattar's remarks, Minister of Sports, Honorable Abdulla Rafiu, delivered a presentation on the "Playing with Corals" project. He outlined the initiative's goal to combine football training with marine conservation, leveraging the sport's popularity to engage students. The project aims to build local capacity, inspire youth, and promote female participation through role modeling. It also seeks to enhance environmental awareness by pairing theoretical lessons with hands-on coral restoration activities.

CGA President Chris Jenkins then addressed the attendees, highlighting the significance of this meeting being held in Asia and expressing how fortunate it is for the Maldives to host the event.
