Through the support of International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Olympic Solidarity (OS) funding, the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) has awarded 05 athletes the Paris 2024 Olympic Scholarship. Along with a first time scholarship for Shooting, the 5 athletes are;
• Athletics - Aishath Himna Hassan
• Badminton - Nibal Ahmed
• Shooting - Ziyan Ziyau
• Surfing - Ismail Rasheed
• Table Tennis - Fathimath Dheema
The scholarship will help these athletes in their journey to prepare and qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Under the program, each athlete will receive a fixed monthly grant for their trainings that will provide access to training facilities, specialized coaching services, medical and scientific assistance as well as travel costs for to participate in competitions, including Olympic qualification events.
MOC hopes the scholarship will help the athletes excel in their trainings and wish them success in representing Maldives in the International arena.
