IOC‑Backed Athlete365 Career+ Workshop Empowers Young Maldivian Athletes
The Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC), in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), successfully launched a two-day Athlete365 Career+ Workshop on 22 August 2025 in Malé. The programme is part of the IOC’s global Athlete365 Career+ initiative, designed to help athletes prepare for life beyond competitive sport.
The workshop was facilitated by Jovina Choo, a certified IOC Career+ educator, who led interactive sessions aimed at guiding athletes through critical transitions in their careers.
Around 40 young athletes from a variety of sports disciplines participated in the workshop. Over the two days, they engaged in modules that focused on self-discovery, career planning, and skills development — all tailored to help them navigate what comes after their athletic careers.
Key topics covered in the workshop included:
-
Self-awareness and goal setting, where athletes learned to reflect on their strengths and long-term aspirations.
-
Translating athletic experience into employable skills, with a focus on networking, resume writing, and interview preparation.
-
Planning for dual-careers and entrepreneurship, enabling athletes to consider educational or professional paths alongside or after their sporting journey.
The Athlete365 Career+ programme provides ongoing resources such as tailored advice, learning tools, and networking opportunities. By hosting this workshop, the MOC continues to strengthen its support for athletes’ holistic development — investing in more than just their performance on the field, but also their futures off it.
