President of Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Dr. Ary da Silva Graça Filho paid a coutsey visit to Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC)
President of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Dr. Ary da Silva Graça Filho visited the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) yesterday, to hold official discussions with the Executives of the MOC and the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM).
President of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Dr. Ary da Silva Graça Filho visited the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) yesterday, to hold official discussions with the Executives of the MOC and the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM).
Discussions were held on how FIVB can assist VAM develop Volleyball in the Maldives through the assistance from MOC. Dr. da Silva Graça Filho stressed on the importance of the role FIVB can play in providing technical assistance and announced that FIVB will provide assistance to VAM by providing a coach for a term of two years.
He also noted that scholarship opportunities may be provided to the Maldives in certain areas identified by the VAM and the MOC. President of the Maldives Olympic Committee, Mr. Mohamed Abdul Sattar welcomed the assistance from FIVB and pledged full support to FIVB and VAM in the development of Volleyball in the Maldives.
Dr. da Silva Graça Filho was accompanied by officials from FIVB Mr. Steve Tutton - Head of Technical & Development Department, Mr. Hitesh Malhotra - Sports Development Department, Ms. Anna Manuelian - Corporate - Communications Department, and Ms. Lara Marich - Tour Planing and Partnerships Manager from Volleyball World.
They were joined by Mr. Mohamed Abdul Sattar – President of MOC, Mr. Mohamed Tholal - Mr. Ahmed Ismail - Vice Presidents, Mr. Thamooh Ahmed Saeed - Secretary General, along with Mr. Mohamed Raneysh - President of Volleyball Association of Maldives and Mr. Ali Ashraf - Vice President of Volleyball Association of Maldives.
