Director General of OCA and President of FINA, Honourable Dr. Husain Al-Musallam visits MOC
Director General of Olympic Council of Asia and President of International Swimming Federation (FINA), Honourable Dr. Husain Al-Musallam visits Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC), during his visit to view and discuss the proposed aquatics center in Malé, developed by Swimming Association of Maldives.
Dr. Musallam was welcomed by the President of MOC, Mohamed Abdul Sattar, Vice Presidents Ahmed Ismail, Mohamed Tholal, Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed and members of the Executive Committee.
During the meeting, Dr. Musallam shared Olympic Council of Asia’s plan to provide assistance for individual and team sports for their preparation at international competitions. In addition, Dr. Musallam also shared information about OCA initiatives to assist in the development of sportswomen and emphasized the important role of women in sports. Referring to this Dr. Musallam implored MOC to collaborate with OCA to foster and promote the values of sport among women.
Among other things, he also assured that the OCA will support MOC’s growth in both an administrative and a sporting sense by aiding MOC to construct the Olympic House.
