Hussain Mohamed appointed for the Chef de Mission (CdM) for the 19th Asian Games 2022

Hussain Mohamed, the manager to the South Asian Regional Anti-Doping Organization, has been appointed as the Chef de Mission (CdM) for the 19th Asian Games 2022. This makes Hussain’s second time for being entrusted with the CdM role, where in 2010 he served as the CdM of the Team Maldives contingent at the 19th Commonwealth Games held in New Delhi, India. In addition to this, Hussain is also among the first group of people who were trained by MOC as qualified course directors to conduct the Basic Sports Administrators Course (BSAC) as well as the Advance Sport Management Course (ASMC). Apart from these, Hussain Mohamed’s most notable achievements in sports also include being among the few graduates of the Executive Masters in Sports Organization Management (MEMOS). At present Hussain is also a member of MOC’s Education and Culture Commission. With his appointment as the Chef de Mission, Hussain Mohamed will be responsible for leading the Team Maldives contingent at the 19th Asian Games, thereby ensuring athletes and the coaching staff have all amenities required to perform at their best. Asian Games set to commence in Hangzhou, China from 10-25 September this year, is expected to be represented by over 100 athletes and officials from Maldives, possibly making it the biggest international tournament of the year for MOC.
