World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) makes a courtesy call to Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC)
Malé City, Maldives: World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) Asia / Oceania Office Manager Kenny (Kyu Hwan) Lee and Program Development and Manager of National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) / Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (RADO) Relations Ms. Ying Cui along with South Asian Regional Anti-Doping Organisation’s (SARADO) Manager Hussain Mohamed paid a courtesy visit to the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC).
The delegates are in Maldives for the SARADO Member Country Representative meeting which was held on 4 February 2023.
During the meeting, Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed thanked them for the courtesy visit and stressed the importance of providing WADA approved level of education to athletes and officials who participate at multi-sport Games. He further indicated that Maldives athletes, officials and parents need to be exposed to anti-doping education. WADA Officials agreed that it is important, and they are willing provide assistance through SARADO to facilitate education for the athletes from Maldives.
During the meeting they discussed how they can work together to assist the National Sport Association’s (NSA) in getting the required information to the athletes and officials who will be participating at the international Games.
