MOC Participates in 46th OCA General Assembly in Tashkent
The President and Secretary General of the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) attended the 46th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Assembly brought together representatives from 45 Asian National Olympic Committees (NOCs).
The General Assembly was attended and addressed by His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In his remarks, H.E. the President underscored the importance of sport as a vehicle for peace, regional cooperation, and youth development, and welcomed the delegates to Tashkent for this significant gathering of Asian sport leaders.
A key highlight of the Assembly was the conduct of elections for the OCA leadership. The MOC extends its congratulations to the newly elected officials and looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing the development of sport across Asia.
The Assembly also featured the vision statement delivered by the OCA President and President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, who reaffirmed the guiding theme, “Together for Asia.” The address emphasized solidarity, good governance, athlete development, and the strengthening of partnerships among NOCs to elevate the standard and reach of sport throughout the region.
