Shifana Wajeeh appointed as the CdM for 5th Islamic Solidarity Games
Maldives Olympic Committee has appointed Aishath Shifana Wajeeh as the Chef de Mission (CdM) of Team Maldives for the upcoming 5th Islamic Solidarity Games to be held at Konya, Türkiye from 9-18 August.
Ms. Shifana who is the CEO of Heatmv was chosen for the position as it was believed that she will bring an exceptional level of insight, understanding and quality to Team Maldives and help deliver further success for Team Maldives at the Games.
As the CdM, Shifana will be responsible for ensuring the welfare of the team, with the most important component being the performance of the athletes.
With 4 sports on the programme, Team Maldives will take part in the Islamic Solidarity Games for the second time, having last competed in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2017. The sports include Athletics, Basketball, Swimming and Table Tennis.
This is the first time a female has been appointed as the CdM of a game of this magnitude. MOC extends its congratulations to Shifana and wish her and Team Maldives the very best of luck at the Games.
