MOC AGA 2024
The Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) held its Annual General Assembly on March 16, 2024, with 16 member associations in attendance. The Honorable Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu, was the chief guest, joined by the MOC President, Executive Committee members, the Commissioner of Sports, and representatives from the National Sports Council.
The Assembly approved key documents, including the 2023 Agenda, Minutes, Annual Report, Expenditure Report, and the Budget for 2024. Important decisions included establishing a Safeguarding Commission and renaming the Women's Commission to the Gender Equity Commission. Member associations were also mandated to submit requisite documents to the MOC by April 15 annually.
Special recognition was given to individuals who played key roles in overseeing the Games during 2023. Honorees included Abdul Nafi’u Thaufeeg, Ahmed Faseeh, Aminath Ali, Mohamed Jaushan Shareef, and Abdul Hameed Abdul Gafoor for their leadership roles in various international games.
Distinguished sponsors were celebrated for their significant contributions, including the Bank of Maldives, Dhiraagu, State Trading Organisation, Housing Development Corporation, and Ell Mobile, for supporting scholarships and the “MOC Talks” television show.
The Assembly concluded with all members rising to the national anthem, symbolizing unity and patriotism in the pursuit of sporting excellence.
