In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing athletic performance across the Maldives, a comprehensive Strength and Conditioning Course commenced on April 14, 2024, in Malé City. Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation, this seven-day program is set to run until April 20, 2024. Conducted by Mr. Amir Issam, Strength and Conditioning expert from Lebanon, the Course has attracted a total of 42 participants representing various
National Sports Associations and sport enthusiasts.
The objective of the Course is to equip coaches with the necessary knowledge and skills to implement effective Strength and Conditioning programs. By doing so, the Course aims to elevate overall athletic performance while mitigating the risk of injuries.
Throughout the duration of the Course, participants will delve into various facets of Strength and Conditioning, including Performance Assessment and Evaluation, Biomechanics, Sport Metabolism, Nutrition and Ergogenic Aids, Training Techniques for athletic performance, Advanced Programming for Sport, as well as Injury Prevention and Return to Competition strategies.
This initiative marks a significant step forward in the Maldives' sports landscape, reflecting a concerted effort to foster excellence and resilience in its athletes.
